About Barker Reservoir

Barker Reservoir is a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers flood-control reservoir in west Houston, working alongside Addicks Reservoir to protect Buffalo Bayou and the city downstream. George Bush Park lies entirely inside the reservoir. Because it exists to hold back floodwater, its level can change quickly after heavy rain.
